Meet the Team

Passion. Experience. Hope.

ABOUT

I began Halve your Cake in 2016 with the goal of helping everyone relearn how to love and enjoy food. Food has gotten so complicated and it does not have to be.

We practice Intuitive Eating food approaches meaning there is no good vs bad foods. You will explore food and your relationship with your body. You will begin to discover what Hunger and Satisfaction means to you. You will discover JOY around eating, instead of fear.

We practice evidenced based health care, through a Health at Every Size view. All food fits and all bodies are good bodies.

Here at Halve your Cake, we can help you make peace with food and your body, and make choices to support your health.

Welcome and thanks for stopping by! I’m Kathleen - registered dietitian and food lover. I completed my dietetic training at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, learning how treat complex disease states, through food and nutrition support. I received my Master’s Degree in Nutrition Education from Immaculata University. Since then I have worked in multiple settings, including some time at Trader Joe’s bringing you your favorite products (mine are the dark chocolate PB cups).

I live in Boston with my husband and two sons. I love being active, and pre-kids have completed several half marathons and a marathon. Post-kids I’m practicing what I preach with small movements during the day using MommaStrong (check them out!). I also just took up sewing after many years and am working on my first full size quilt. I love coffee and chocolate and peanut butter :)

Nicole Myers, RD, CDCES

Registered Dietitian

Hi my name is Nicole, I’m a anti-diet dietitian nutritionist and certified diabetes care and education specialist (formerly certified diabetes educator). I’ve worked in the field of nutrition, in various settings, since 2007. My dietetic training includes undergraduate education at the University of Vermont, and a dietetic internship program at Central Michigan University. I continue to work on educating myself in new areas of nutrition and enjoy attending lectures and training opportunities. I offer personalized nutrition counseling with a weight-neutral approach to all health conditions. My interests are intuitive eating, prenatal and postpartum nutrition, diabetes and digestive health.

My nutrition philosophy is rooted in the Intuitive Eating approach. Intuitive Eating teaches us to reconnect with our internal body cues, to build trust in understanding your own needs and find your own path to a more peaceful and restorative relationship with food and body. My goal is that clients walk away with evidenced-based nutrition information and new skills that allow them to feel empowered and in control of their health as well as gain an improved relationship to food. I believe that health, wellbeing and chronic conditions will improve when balance is achieved through nurturing positive health behaviors.

I live in the greater Boston area with my husband, two children and a big goofy dog. I enjoy being outdoors, cooking, reading, and yoga. In the next year I aspire to become more active with photography and do a little work in the garden. I think there is nothing more enjoyable than sharing a good meal with family and friends. I’m honored that my work connects me with so many people and their stories. My hope is that I can help create a new, positive chapter in your story about health, food and body.
